SummerToast to Benefit CTK

Denver’s Largest Marketing & Business Professionals’ Networking Event has chosen Connect the Kids as the beneficiary of its fundraising efforts this year. This wonderful organization brings together over 40 top professional marketing, business and events organizations, colleges, and local businesses, and will provide not only funding but exposure for our organization.

Personal Message from Sandra Murray, Producer of SummerToast:
“I met Erik teaching his kids soccer and lacrosse in the field next to my house this spring and was moved by his dedication and what this organization does for our kids. Recently, the trusty van they used to transport the kids was totaled, (no one was hurt).

We know that with the help of Omeara Ford’s Team and the dedication of our SummerToast organizers, sponsors, attendees, community and friends, we can help raise money to buy Connect the Kids a van. Omeara Ford’s Team has stepped up to help us with our mission to help raise funds to purchase a van for Connect the Kids. Together we can do this!”

We are excited to partner with the SummerToast Event, and certainly hope that you can attend.

If you can’t make SummerToast and would like to donate and be entered to win the great get away gifts, please visit: http://www.summertoast.com

To Our Supporters

Connect the Kids would not be where it is today without your support. As a result of your generosity we are moving toward a vision that will have a tremendous impact on the lives of so many kids. We have worked very hard on our community outreach efforts gathering input and ideas from teachers, local leaders and parents to ensure that we are on the right track and providing the best service that we can to our kids. The feedback has been remarkable and the message is clear — providing transportation to already existing enrichment programs is a missing link in the Denver community. As one of our supporters you are helping to provide something that no organization is providing. Your financial commitment means so much to Connect the Kids. THANK YOU FOR INVESTING IN OUR AMAZING ORGANIZATION!

Spring Programming

As we prepare to take Connect the Kids into the next phase we are honored to be working with History Colorado this Spring. We will be providing transportation to a group of students from Stedman Elementary to several historical sites in the Denver Metro area. From visiting the Black American History Museum and having tea at the Byers-Evans House, to panning for gold at Confluence Park this group of students will get to experience firsthand some of Colorado’s most precious Metro historical sites.

Connect the Kids is thrilled to connect our kids with such an amazing and committed partner. Thank you History Colorado!

Connect The Kids Hires Executive Director

Connect the Kids, a provider of essential transportation and mentoring services to K-7 disadvantaged youth, board is pleased to announce the hiring of full-time Executive Director, Amy Sanchez Raaz. Amy joined the organization in March, and brings a leadership background in politics and fundraising. She has been active both in the Denver community and nationally and has worked on several significant political campaigns. She also ran her own political and fundraising consulting firm. While she brings a law degree to the organization, her real passion is building the infrastructure to support the great volunteers at CTK and expand the number of schools CTK works with in 2011. She spent her first month meeting with many volunteers and program partners.

“Amy has great grass roots and organization building experience that will clearly help Connect the Kids significantly expand the number of kids the organization serves going forward.” Tryg Myhren, search committee member and advisor.
